Seth Godin
Who is Seth Godin?
I’ve written a dozen books, I have a blog and I’ve started two internet companies. My passion is positive change, pushing people to make the impact they’re capable of, even if it means overthrowing the status quo. For a living, I notice things and point them out. For thrills, I cross country ski and paddle a cedar strip canoe. And for my passion, I teach.
Do you have a personal Brand?
I hope that people’s interactions with my work leave them feeling as though I’m sharing ideas worth spreading.
How do you find idea inspiration for a new project (book for example)?
Once you establish a cycle of inspiration, you don’t have to look for ideas. In fact, you have to edit them.
What does your typical day look like?
The goal is to have no typical days!
What do you do in your free time?
The word ‘free’ is funny, because isn’t all of it free?
Current favorite apps?
I use Nisus and Keynote and mail.app on the Mac.
Small picture of your workplace?
Favorite Authors?
Pema Chodron, Zig Ziglar, Neal Stephenson, Cory Doctorow, Dan Dennett, Carl Hiassen, Malcolm Gladwell, Kevin Kelly and Chris Anderson.
Name something that has inspired you recently?
The interaction I had with a world-class professional this morning, the letters I read, and working with people who really and truly care.
What do you prefer (and why)? Freelance work or full time employment?
The third choice is being an entrepreneur.
Right now, it’s freelancing. But I wrestle daily with the idea of being an entrepreneur again.
What are your personnel projects and goals for 2010?
To do work that matters and ship it out the door. To do the platform justice.
