Who’s Michael Pham?

I’m 26 years old and self-employed in my little one-man company called MPSOFTWARE and the guy behind the software program phpDesigner 7. I live in Denmark but my parents are from Vietnam.

phpDesigner IDE?

phpDesigner 7 is a full-featured PHP IDE and PHP editor with built in HTML, CSS and JavaScript editor. You can read more about phpDesigner 7 and check out the many cool features that helps you boost your productive at phpDesigner7.  phpDesigner 7 started as a spin-off from my first program called htmlGate and soon grow bigger and more popular and now after more than 5 years I am still working happily on it.

What does your typical day look like?

I start the day with answering emails and other request, surfing the web for news and coding.

What are the tools you couldn’t live without?

My laptop and wireless internet.

What do you do in your free time?

I have a little free time, so when I am not working for my company which I do the most of the day I am a also a full-time student working on my master but when I finally have some free time I like to spend it together with my lovely girlfriend, my fantastic friends and family.

  • Firefox (trying to move to Chrome…)
  • Notepad

What OSs do you prefer?

Windows.

Favorite: Languages, JS Framework?

jQuery but I am opened for all the major JavaScript frameworks out there. This is also why you can work and have full support for not only jQuery but also Ext JS, YUI, Dojo, MooTools and Prototype in phpDesigner 7.

The things or source that inspired you?

I get inspired by the many things, articles, podcasts, tweets, interviews I find on the internet and people I meet.

What’s do you prefer, the freelance work or the full time employee?

Freelance worker.

Your personnel projects and goals for 2010?

I am working on reintroduce my first program htmlGate with support for HTML 5. I am also working on a USB edition of phpDesigner 7 and a free light edition of phpDesigner 7. Trying to finish my master and finally hoping to be able to find a partner with some financial muscles that can help me exploit the full potential of my software.

    Michael has a fantastic talent. I use his IDE, phpDesigner, and consider it to be the best available. Interesting to learn that he is a full-time student. I don’t see how he does it all. Thanks for the interview!

    Hi Michael, I’m from Brasil.

    Don’t write english so well, but, one time I asked you about the icone HTML Gate Free 2005 ( I use it and learned html in this program ) and you said that a “solitary star”.

    I’m working like a solitary man too, but I believe and hope that my God, when my situation in new time and new computer, I will help you and buy your program, cause I’m grateful for my God that can help you too.
