Who’s Guillermo Rauch?
Guillermo is a 19-year-old web engineer from Argentina currently working in the startup world in the SF Bay Area. He likes trees, macs, and WebKit.
What does your typical day look like?
Wake up sometime between 7 and 9 AM, eat a big breakfast and walk 5 blocks to work. If it’s cold outside I’ll complain before leaving the house.
What are the tools you couldn’t live without?
My laptop, the Apple Magic Mouse.
What do you do in your free time?
Go to the gym, try to read my favorite literature authors, watch House MD and Lost.
Current favorite apps?
Teleport, Cloud.app, Textmate, Fluid.app, Spotify, Things.
What OSs do you prefer?
In order of preference:
OS X, GNU/Linux, *BSD, Windows.

- Language: don’t have one. I like PHP for fast web development, Ruby/Python for their versatility and portability.

The things or source that inspired you?
Pieces of monumental work run by single individuals such as NginX or Qmail have inspired me and continue to do so.
What’s do you prefer, the freelance work or the full time employee?
Can’t decide. Both have their benefits. I think being a freelancer gives you more time for personal projects. But being a full time employee lets you embark on bigger projects and challenges.
Your personnel projects and goals for 2010?
Continue to blog at Devthought about the new technologies I’m interested in, keep releasing open source projects I maintain and continue to contribute to MooTools as a core developer.
